Bulls and Broncs Chute Out Brings Intense Rodeo Action and Whiplash the Cowboy Monkey to the Cincinnati Gardens.
The world’s toughest cowboys and cowgirls will return to the Cincinnati Gardens with the Bulls and Broncs Chute Out on Friday, February 17 at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, February 18 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, February 19 at 3:00 p.m. This year’s show features rodeo celebrity Tommy Lucia and Whiplash the cowboy monkey.
Tommy Lucia has spent 30 years in the entertainment field, performing at rodeos, horse shows, circuses and fairs in the U.S., Canada Mexico and Latin America. Lucia’s acts have been featured in television shows, commercials, movies and command performances before international celebrities and royalty. Tommy and Whiplash were named the P.R.C.A. Act of the Year for 3 years running with no end in sight for this immensely popular monkey icon now featured in Taco John’s advertising campaign.
Whiplash is no ordinary cowboy. Whiplash sits atop a black and white border collie named Ben before the rodeo, waiting for his turn to ride. When Whiplash rides into the arena astride his Border collie mount, decked out in his finest cowboy duds and custom-made saddle, the audience is assured of a fun, fast paced and incredibly unique performance.
With the aid of Tommy Lucia and his highly trained sheep dog partner, Ben, imported from Scotland, Whiplash rounds up a herd of wild sheep. Although the agility and skill of his canine companion are unmatched, it is the unpredictable antics of this pint-sized primate that have thrilled fans worldwide. He rides like the wind, yet never falls.
Together, internationally known Lucia of Weatherford Texas and Whiplash have performed at almost every major rodeo and stock show in the country, visiting 48 states, Canada and Mexico. He has appeared on "The Today Show," "Good Morning America" and ESPN's Sports Center as Play of the Day and Week. He now he has become Taco John’s advertising superstar.
