record crowd of more than 1,800 fans at Cincinnati Gardens Saturday
in splitting their hope opener with Ft. Wayne.
The Cincinnati All star squad known as
the Black Sheep jumped out to a 18-3 lead after just three
james and never looked back, trouncing the Bomb Squad of the
Ft. Wayne (Indiana) Derby Girls 100-35. In the first bout of the night,
Ft. Wayne's Flyin' Squirrels came from behind to beat
Cincinnati's Silent Lambs 73-55.
The Blacksheep were led by Women's
Indoor Flat Track Association all star Sadistic Sadie,
who ammassed 45 jam points. Roseanne Scarr chipped in
with 24 points on the jam, while Hannah Barbaric added
another 21 points. The Blacksheep ran out to a convincing 58-7 lead at
halftime. Blu Bayou and Ruffin' the Passer
also scored points for Cincinnati. The win improved the Blacksheep's
2008 record to 3-0. The Blacksheep will next skate on May 10 against
the Massacre of the Boston Derby Dames.
